Mason & Green Balcony Resurfacing

Access Plan: Ladder

Preparation: Grinding existing coating to a sound surface. Solvent wipe. Product specific primer. Manufacturers required standard.

Products Used:
Tremco Dymonic 100 Sealant
Tremco Vulkem 350 Base Coat (for repairs as required)
Tremco Vulkem 351 Top Coat

Project Duration: 10 weeks

Challenges: Rotten wood was located beneath previously existing balcony membrane, some of which had extended to the joists, which also required replacing. On some balconies, the application resulted in some unexpected blistering and imperfections.

Solutions: Carpenters were engaged to remove rotten wood and rebuild the affected decks before they were primed, taped and refinished.

The crew was asked to regrind blistered balconies, and re-do their preparation to ensure that no contaminants were left on the surface.
